How to use a WooCommerce regular coupon as a condition in YayPricing

An awesome function of YayPricing is to offer coupons for your customers.

You can create many types of coupon promotions by creating coupon codes with WooCommerce and associating them with any pricing rule of YayPricing.

In this scenario, let’s follow our tutorial to explore how to generate a regular coupon to work with the Buy X Get Y rule of YayPricing.

Step 1: Create a $0 discount code

The first step is to generate a coupon code, we will access WooCommerce regular coupon to create a coupon and assign the value of 0 for this coupon. This means this coupon offers nothing and will not be valid when applied to any cart page.

Step 2: Set pricing rule Buy X Get Y to apply coupon code

Then, back to the user interface of YayPricing, in the Product Pricing tab, click on “Add rule”, and we will select the Buy X Get Y rule to set up.

We go ahead to configure the price discount settings. Let’s get started with assigning all the products for this discount, because we want this coupon will be applied when customers purchase any product. And for this rule to be used once in the cart, we don’t need to check the “Repeat” box.

In the setting for “Get Product”, we will select the product for customers to get free. In addition, we should choose “Any” or “All” option, this is the function to help filter criteria to make sure that all products must be met before it is applied to a customer.

Step 3: Display a notice on the product page or email template

As we can see in the screenshot below, the settings tab provides some functions to make the promotion campaign more effective such as displaying offer descriptions to encourage customers to buy.

Customers will see the discount description when accessing those selected as X product page of the store.

Step 4: Use it as a condition within YayPricing

Navigate to the “Conditions” tab, we will see the drop-down list of conditions of YayPricing to set up. This is the required step to apply the pricing rule with the coupon code. For the coupon code to work with this discount rule, we will choose the “Applied coupon” condition. Then assign the coupon code to activate this rule.

Step 5: The coupon code works with the Buy X Get Y rule on the checkout page

Move to view in the cart page, when not applying the coupon code, customers just checkout with the products they choose.

Then, a hoodie with a logo will be added for free if customers enter the coupon code.
