# Date Picker Option

**The "Date Picker" option type in YayExtra** allows customers to select a specific date directly from a calendar interface. It's ideal for products or services that require scheduling, such as bookings, appointments, or delivery dates. You can customize date formats, set available date ranges, and apply conditional logic for more flexibility.

The GIF example below shows how we selected the **Date Picker Option,** named it as **Delivery Date** and checked it as **Required** (so that customers must interact with this Option before they are able to checkout).

We can also add **Class** (for CSS purposes) and make other settings in the **Advanced Settings** tab and **Conditional Logics** tab

It now includes advanced settings that allow you to **disable dates from today**, **disable other days**, **disable past date**. This makes it perfect for managing availability for bookings, events, or deliveries with greater control and flexibility.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.yaycommerce.com/yayextra/how-it-works/option-types/date-picker-option.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
