Review

The Review Settings screen allows you to configure how your customers can submit product reviews on your WooCommerce store. Below is a breakdown of each section and its functions:

(1). General: The General tab is designed to define the basic rules for customer reviews. Here, you decide whether reviews must include text, how long they should be, and whether a review title is required. This ensures reviews are meaningful and prevent empty or spam submissions.

• Allow reviewer write their review content: When enabled, customers are allowed to write their own review text.

• Require content for review: Allows you to set character limits for the review content.

  • When enabled: You can define both minimum and maximum characters (e.g., 10–500 characters).

  • When disabled: The content will default to a maximum of 500 characters, with no minimum limit required.

• Allow reviewer write review title: Lets customers add a title to summarize their review.

(2). Reviewer profile: The Reviewer Profile section allows you to manage how reviewer information is displayed along with their reviews. This helps protect user privacy, customize profile appearances, and provide transparency about reviewers.

• Display profile in specific reviews as anonymous: Enable this option to show reviewer profiles as anonymous in selected reviews. You can choose to display: Show first two characters or Alternative name.

• Using own avatar instead of Gravatar: Allows reviewers to upload their own avatar image on the Account page, instead of relying on the default Gravatar system.

• Display total reviews of reviewer: Shows the total number of reviews submitted by a reviewer in each individual review section.

(3). Upload Media: This section enables customers to upload images or videos along with their reviews.

• Is media required when submitting a review?: Enable this if you want to make uploading media mandatory for submitting a review.

• Media types: Choose between image, video, or both.

• Maximum files per review: Set the maximum number of media files a customer can upload.

• Maximum file size (KB): Define the size limit for each file (e.g., 2000KB = 2MB)

• Field label (optional): Customize the label displayed above the upload field (e.g., “Upload media”).

• Field description (optional): Add a helpful description, such as accepted formats and file size limits.

(4). Data Processing Consent: Ensure GDPR compliance by requesting customer consent before collecting their data through reviews.

(5). WooCommerce Settings: Configure how product reviews are handled through native WooCommerce options. To access the full set of WooCommerce settings, click Manage WooCommerce settings.
