# Setup Wizard

The setup wizard sets your basics and can import a starter site: sample services and agents, a landing page and a booking form look for your type of business. It opens after you first activate Bookster. To run it again, go to **Settings › Advanced › Tools** in Bookster and click **Setup Wizard**.

## Before you start

* Run the wizard as a site administrator. Installing addons, the theme and the landing page needs one. Other users see addons marked **Needs an administrator**, and no **Landing Page** option.
* With **Landing Page** picked, the import replaces pages with the same names (Home, About, Services…) and changes made in the Site Editor. Use it on a new site, or back up first.

## Run the wizard

1. **Welcome**: set your **Timezone**, **Default Time Slot Step**, **Default Phone Country**, **Schedule** and **Currency**. Click **Continue**.
2. **Agent** (free plan only): enter your first agent's details, or click **Skip**.
3. **Template**: pick a starter site and click **Continue**. Use the category buttons to narrow the list. Click **Skip** to add your services by hand instead.
4. **Demo Data**: choose what to import, then click **Continue**:
   * **Services**: the starter site's services.
   * **Agents**: its agents. Needs Bookster Pro; on the free plan the agent from step 2 is used.
   * **Landing Page**: its pages and menus on the Brandy theme, set as your home page.
   * **Delete Previous Demo Data**: removes what an earlier import added. Records you created are kept; demo agents and services with appointments are turned off instead.
5. **Addons**: the addons the starter site uses are ticked. Change them if you like, then click **Import**.
6. Wait while Bookster sets up your site. Keep the page open; it takes 1 to 3 minutes.
7. On **Complete**, click **Customize** to style the booking form, or **Visit Site**.

## Starter sites

Each starter site comes with sample services and a landing page, and is built on the free Brandy theme:

* **Pet Care**
* **Fitness Gym / Yoga**
* **Clinic**
* **Spa**
* **Sport**
* **Tutor**

The import installs the Brandy theme and the Brandy Blocks plugin when the landing page is picked. Its fonts are included with Bookster, so no visitor data goes to Google. The booking form colors apply once the [Booking Template](/bookster/addons/booking-template.md) addon is active.

## While it imports

Bookster runs the import one step at a time and ticks each one off: addons, services, agents, extras, locations, theme, landing page and so on. A step that fails shows **Retry**; trying again doesn't duplicate what is already done.

On **Complete**, a step that was skipped or changed shows under **Imported with notes**, **Imported with changes** or **Not imported**, with the reason.

## If something goes wrong

| Symptom                                                      | What to do                                                                                                                |
| ------------------------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| An addon shows **Needs an administrator**                    | Sign in as a site administrator and run the wizard again.                                                                 |
| There is no **Landing Page** option                          | Only site administrators can install the theme and pages.                                                                 |
| Agents are not imported: "This section needs a Pro license." | Expected on the free plan. Add agents in **Agents**.                                                                      |
| A step failed                                                | Click **Retry**. If it fails again, see [Troubleshooting](/bookster/other-links/troubleshooting.md#what-to-send-support). |
| The booking form doesn't use the starter site's colors       | Activate the Booking Template addon.                                                                                      |
